Yes, they are. However, they must first announce their intention to enter and the reason for doing so audibly to you. They may use only as much force as is necessary to gain entry. Furthermore, if the police have reason to suspect you may try to destroy evidence if they announce their entry, e.g. you may flush drugs down the toilet, they are permitted to force entry with advising you first.
