I am going through a difficult and messy divorce and I found myself at the point where I didn't even feel like going on anymore and I had no clue as to what I should do. There was something I found very astonishing though, I obviously by this point had phoned a couple of law firms for assistance and upon phoning them the first thing that gets said to me over there phone is; this is what I cost, this is how I work, and I want my payment up front- between the "I this" and "I that" I was left thinking where would assisting me fit in. Then when Ms Heike Marais from Simon Dippenaar & Associates Inc. contacted me I realized that there are very few people in this world that truly care and have a passion for what they do for a living because regardless of my circumstances and from the moment I answered that phone call I experienced an extremely high standard of professionalism and got treated with respect but at the same time I could hear that they genuinely care. I was listened to and I was given not only good advice but today looking back I can say I was given the best advice. I also not for a single moment got treated like I'm just another case but always even above receiving the best legal advice got spoken to as a person who's best interests they genuinely care about. I have been going through hell with a tenant turned squatter in my Hout Bay home. I am abroad and trusted her—an ex client of mine and rental agent—to take care of my place. Not only did she decide to not pay rent as soon as she moved in but she disregarded every clause in our fixed term lease. It took a few months to understand that her volatile messages, that went from one day thanking me for the magical space to the next day abusing me for everything that was wrong with her life, indicated someone mentally unwell. Instead of leaving or paying rent, she tried to justify herself with often vicious threats about fabricated grievances and illness. She even re-homed my cat to an undisclosed location. I didn’t know where to turn. I was completely overwhelmed.The tenant in a studio on the same property sent me the number for SD Law. I was wary at first because of this woman’s vicious attacks, so it took me another few weeks to fully recognise that this was not a rational woman and that none of my attempts for peaceful resolution were going to work for me.
I made contact with SD Law, got a response within the day and a WhatsApp consultation shortly thereafter with a kind, courteous, professional young lawyer, Cronje. His considered and fastidious manner in which he ran through all the relevant aspects of my case, and how to resolve it effectively within the constraints of the South African legal system, reassured me and gave me clarity. I felt safe to fully hand this over to a competent team of professionals who, it appears, are the best in South Africa for evictions.After already being financially crippled by the non-payment of rent, my next great concern was the legal fees. SD Law have a fee structure that benefits their clients in the sense that you only pay for the phase/s of the process I required. I had very stubborn tenants who refused to move out even through pre-court negotiations. But I could rest assured that SD attorneys will handle them very well and they did exactly that. After the 1st court appearance the tenants realized that the matter very serious and the moved out. Thanks to all the hard work put in by SD attorneys I now have my property back.

Fantastic service and incredibly helpful. I used SD Law's services to facilitate an amicable uncontested divorce that was complicated by the fact that I live abroad and my (now ex) wife lives in Cape Town. I guess I was slightly apprehensive initially because the full fee was requested up front, but having checked out other reviews I decided to go for it. Fortunately that turned out to be the right decision! The service I got from the firm (and particularly from Mehra Amri, the Candidate Attorney with whom I interacted directly) was excellent. The process took a while, but that was simply down to the delays in getting a court date and such. I don't think there's anything the firm could have done to make it go faster. Throughout the process communication was good, and I felt well looked after. It wasn't cheap exactly, but I do think the fee was entirely reasonable. And, as they say, you get what you pay for!In short, I would recommend them highly.

This is in my opinion is probably the best law firm in South Africa. Jealous down!! They were the only ones who showed willingness to assist me with my tenant problems.Their rates are some of the most affordable amongst law firms. In fact, for the service you get. My experience with SD Law will change your mind.My mother actually contacted them after my arrest on a Sunday morning and she was told that they do not cover our area. About a few minutes later she received another call from Simon to say that someone will come out to assist us.On Sunday, I met Clara at that moment I did not realize that she was my guardian ANGEL. She ask me what happened and explain everything as she recorded me and told me she will try her best to get me bail. Which she successfully got me out on Bail.When I arrived at home my mother received a call from Simon. I was amazed by the follow up and feedback. I asked Clara the cost to represent me in my trail and it was quite expensive, but I went with Clara as she knew my case and gave me very good advice.The Monday in court, the prosecutor said the case was withdrawn. We left the court room and Clara took the time to explain to me what had happened. I was still nervous as now I have a criminal record. On Tuesday, Clara gave me a phone called which she had not obligation to do. As she had completed her duties which was paid for. She explained to me the process to get my finger prints removed as well as sent me an email stating what I should do for this process to happen.The feedback and response via telephone and email was so clear and helpful that I would recommend this firm to other. The service was worth every cent.Today I followed Clara advice and was informed that my case was not withdrawn. I was confused and heartbroken. As an accommodation establishment based in Cape Town where SD Law represented us in High Court. We had a rather urgent situation when we were preparing to evict a guest who over a length of time had rental arrears issues which our own attempts were futile to resolve. The guest was an advocate himself and we were aware that we would require formidable defense ourselves when urgent litigation was launched against us in an attempt to thwart the eviction process. Simon and Fritz ensured our rights were protected and that our business integrity was kept intact. They arranged junior counsel to make the legal process more reachable in affordability for us and due to the nature of the defense we required Simon made himself available and present all the way through, advising and formulating strategy with counsel and Fritz was always readily available only a phone call, message or email away to offer sound strategy and advise. Did you know that you can action a divorce in South Africa even if you got married in another country? For two years, whilst separated and living back in South Africa, I thought I could not get divorced as I was married in the USA. It was a huge relief to discover that the power actually lay in my hands. I initiated proceedings on my side, in South Africa, and was legally divorced within three months! The service I received was phenomenal. Being “stuck” in the USA combined with the effects of Covid -19 made for some trying and tense times in my life.
